Quick start

To calculate the roof, it is required to split the calculated roof into planes (slopes), and draw them in our system. After that, our program will calculate the amount of material required for each of the planes and provide you with a report on the amount of material required for the roof and the location of the sheets.

On the right we have posted a video lesson, which, in fact, repeats what is described on this page. It may be easier for you to understand how to work with the system via video.

Creating a roof project

Example of creating a roof calculation project

A project is a set of slopes of one roof and its settings. To create a project, go to the folder where the project should be located and click the "Create Project" button.

In the project settings you need to specify the name (you can use letters of any alphabet and numbers) and select the specific material that is used for the calculation. The material sets all the settings (sheet sizes, restricted lengths, and so on).

After entering the data - click "Create project", after which you will receive an empty project without a single slope

Work with roof slopes

To add a plane to the roof, click "Add slope". Perhaps your browser warns you about opening a window and blocks the editor of slopes.

Drawing a roof slope plane

An example of drawing a roof slope

First of all, you need to draw the plane of the slope - for this you have three ways:

  1. Draw a slope with a mouse - click in the desired place on the canvas and, placing the vertex points of the roof slope by clicking the left mouse button, draw the border of the slope
  2. Draw by exact coordinates - click the "Set Vertices by Coordinates" button and draw a roofing slope specifying the vertices of its corners
  3. Use templates - the system has a number of templates to simplify drawing. Click the Preset Skate button (or Preset Cut for cutouts) and, specifying the desired template and its dimensions, draw a slope

To change a vertex, right click on it.

After drawing is finished, click on the Check and Merge Cuts button to ensure that the slope does not contain errors.

Material calculation

Example layout of the material on the slope of the roof

After the slope is drawn, select the work mode "Editing Material Layout".

To calculate the material, click the "Recalculate Layout" button. If necessary - set the completing elements and additional parameters.

If you need to edit the layout (for sheet material) - select the desired sheets (Ctrl + Left mouse button) and press the Right mouse button.

The end of the calculation and comments

At the end of the calculation, set the name of the slope (optional) and click the "Save slope and layout" button

Next, in the same way, draw all the ramps. At the end - to the right of the list of slopes there is a link "Report", by clicking on it you will be taken to a report with a list of slopes and all the necessary calculations.
